Gong Xi Fa Cai everybody in this Year of the Ox May all of us harvest prosperity and success in all aspects. Not forgetting HEALTH.. most important.

Had our reunion dinner on Sunday. Luckily, this year, "chu yi" is also Australia Day here, which means we get a public holiday. Denise needs to work though.

Anyway, trying to be in the mood for tradition, we had fun cooking dishes that meant something. We have leeks, tau kua, mushroom, fish etc. We also had pineapple tarts too. Rare delicacy over here.

The day I'm looking forward is here.. long weekend.. but is gonna be over soon. tomorrow, my year officially starts, cos I need to work. Fresh start, fresh ambitions, fresh resolutions.

remember when your primary school teacher ask you about your ambition?
doctor, lawyer, pilot are popular answers. I definitely did not say engineer.

Did we even ever gave a serious thought about it? I'm sure many of us are doing what "the path" is leading us to. Many of us.. the path is education results.

How do we actually go and achieve our ambition. Surely, it doesnt just happened.
Opportunities come and go. We have to make sure we grab them when they arrived. Many sources would say networking is important but I'm sure everything comes at a price, and has its own pros and cons.

What is my ambition? I've been asking myself. Unrealistically, it is to become a sportsperson.
Realistically, i'm not sure although i'm proud to be an engineer, a traffic engineer.

these couple of days, pretty interested in sports management. There's actually an MBA with sports management as an elective. Just a thought.

good on my sis for trying her hands on trap shooting. haven asked her yet, hope she was able to shoot down some targets.

2 days to go to weekend. another 4 days to Chinese New Year.

Old Celica: driven by a big size housewife like lady, speeds up and overtakes @ a tight angle

Hondaz Civic: gives a long horn, trying to be funny.

Old Celica: Middle finger comes up from the driver's window

Hondaz Civic: seeing this, gives another horn to signal his displeasure

Old Celica: once again, with unruly behavior, gives another nice one up

My dad always tells me: "Don't quarrel with people on the roads, not worth it since it is just a 5 seconds meeting"

My reaction: F*ck*ng Bitch..the way you are driving..no wonder there are more and more road bullies and accident rates are going up...really really really want to curse her... and I did.

Why do I always try to answer each question in 1 sentence.

Discussion Post

Scene: Brought my car to service centre to find out what's the cause of the slight irritating noise coming out from the engine?

Moment: Honda staff ask me for the key and told me to sit at the waiting area while they test my car

Action: Did as told

Question: Should I have insist to follow him?

Result: Staff came back half an hr late, informing me on the problem and the solution

Dilemma: I think I should have follow him. What if he is targetting the wrong problem and the solution wouldn't be the right one?

Conclusion: I think from now on, I need to know what my rights are. and know it quick. very quick and to response quickly. something to learn.

Things I Wanna do in 2009

2009 has just started. There are some things which I really like to to/take up for this year.
I guess 11 months should be enough to complete most if not all of the following:

1) Basic Archery;
2) Basic Golf;
3) Whitewater Rafting;

4) Harbour Bridge Climb;

5) Less soccer news; and
6) Tasmania/Perth/Cairns or New Zealand. At least, plan a good trip.

Trip Review

Singapore.. Another trip back home to have a holiday break of one month.

Was disappointed that I did not have the chance to board the Singapore Flyer due to its mechanical failure on my birthday. The last time I was back in Singapore, it was still under construction, this time, something like that happened. What good timing.

Ate too much during the 1st 2 weeks back. Thanks to mum. Feeding me whenever she can.
Who can resist all the delicious food she has prepared. Maybe my sis. =). Due to her health conditions, she's on a porridge diet ever since she had her operation. Good on ya.

Catch up with just a few friends this time round. Due to festive seasons and family commitments, apologies to those who I din get to meet up.

Glad that denise's family settled well into their new home. I find the home the right choice. Nice comfy location. Well done. Special mention to the removalists who are able to carry a washing machine's weight per person.

As per usual, loads of thinking this time round. Some of my thoughts:
1) Laziness is the root of all evilness;
2) Any other industries that I'm interested in?
3) Traffic engineering still?
4) Aussie?
5) Where does my future lies??

Time to set some New Year 2009 resolutions based on the above few questions.
